Experience salmon first hand! Øygarden aquaculture centre is a modern facility for production of salmon and trout - and you can come visit.
A speedy trip in a RIB will take you to the fish farm, where our guide will show you around and tell you how the production takes place - from egg to finished product.

Sea and ocean-related industries are a natural part of the economy in Øygarden, and they play a great part in the forming of the municipalitys identity, history and traditions. Fish farming is an important part of this, and you can come with us to the fish farm situated on the fjord just outside the from the museum. Start the visit at the museum, where you can learn how the idea of farming salmon and trout started around 1850, and how it developed into the industry fish farming is today. Complete the visit with seeing the facilites first hand.

Daily tours (except saturdays) depart at 12.00 and 13.00 from May-August

April, September and October there are tours on sundays at 12.00 and 13.00, or by appointment

The Aquaculture centre will be closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 situation going on. There will be a new evaluation regarding opening up for visitors on augsut 3rd.
