A collection of outboard motors – from near and far
Life along the coast has made us dependent on being able to transport ourselves by boat. When the outboard motor was made available, the coastal people were quick to make use of it. We have a collection of about 40 outboard motors that are on display, and they clearly show the historical evolution of this type of motor.
All the motors exhibited are from the collection of Gunnar Mikkelsen, an avid collector of different motors through the decades.
In the collection you will find rarities like a combined motor and chain saw, as well as a motor so tiny you can put it in your backpack. You will find the exhibition in the large white boat house by the museum.
